Diversity & Inclusion, Thinking environment – J&J

Take your thinking to the next level

Being able to leverage diversity and to build an inclusive environment has become more and more important in the workplace as increased diversity of organisations and global virtual collaboration is adding complexity.  An important asset of the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) companies is the diversity of thought and the stimulation of an inclusive culture.  Having an open mind is necessary to create leadership, innovation & growth.

During this workshop, the team will introduce you to techniques used in J&J to take your thinking to the next level.  

You will learn:

  • – To know J&J and its company culture
  • – How to benefit from the diversity of thought and to create an inclusive environment
  • – How to produce better ideas with a team in less time to obtain better business outcomes

Design Thinking – Comate

Design Thinking is a fashion term of late and has lost some of it meaning over the years. While currently being hailed as the “next best thing” across several industries, Design Thinking is simply another term for long-standing existing methods and processes form the design community and there’s really not much new about it. Project Management – DEME

The discipline itself is an organized manner of managing a project from its beginning to a defined ending. The division and attention to certain aspects is key. DEME is by default a project management environment and during this session our experiences and tips and tricks will be shared and explained. It will be an interactive workshop! You’ll get the chance to be your own project manager and compare your approach to the one of the experts.

Networking & Personal Branding – Crossbridge

Networking is by far the best way to get a new job. By creating and maintaining professional relations both online and offline, you can give a boost to your career as well as your personal life. What are the best ways to put this into practice as a student? Find out all about it in this workshop, where you will learn the ins and outs of building a professional network.

How can you get noticed by prospective employers? Does your body language and appearance match what you say? How do others see you?

In this second part, you will get some hands-on, concrete feedback on the impression you make on others. Together, we will pinpoint your personal areas of growth and draw up a tailor-made action plan. By learning how to translate your desired image into your actual body language, attitude and outfit, you will not only increase your credibility, but also improve your chances of success during your job hunt.

Track 2: 

Self-Awareness – Exellys

Self-leadership through the Insights model

Leadership starts with self-leadership. By knowing better your own strengths and weaknesses you are better able to interact with others. The Insights model provides a pragmatic but scientifically grounded way to analyse what gives you energy and what drains energy. In this session, you will learn to read your own manual and based on that insight, you will also learn to read other people’s manual. This will improve your relationships, your team work and will be the basis to become a future leader.

Presentation skills – BASF

Do you get nodding knees and clammy hands when thinking of standing in front of a group? Do you get nauseous when you have to give a presentation? Then our workshop “Presenting” will help you! Our BASF colleagues will provide you with an interactive training to strengthen your presentation skills. We will exchange tips and tricks, so in the future you’ll be able to transform your nervousness into positive stress. During the workshop, you get a sneak peek into our BASF company culture. Negotiation Skills – EY (Ernst & Young)

Negotiations are not as simple and as black and white as agreeing on the price. There are more factors which need to be considered when having negotiations. The workshop talks about this approach through the theory, the concept, examples, exercises and case study. The negotiations key concepts session deals with co-developing expectations while establishing the best (economic) outcome for all parties. It differentiates you from the competition by demonstrating our thorough and flexible approach to expectations.

Objectives of the workshop:

  • Deepen your understanding of the negotiations key concepts
  • Understand key techniques to enhance negotiation strategy and relationships
  • Define and practice BATNA (Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement)
  • Describe and use multiple options

Time management is a training which is often recommended after you spent a few months at your first job, usually after a conversation with your manager in which you admit that it’s difficult to juggle all the responsibilities coming at you all at once. But why wait until then? Time management is the art of getting to know yourself, to plan things which are expected of you on a regular basis and how to handle distractions. 

In this session we will give you some tips and tricks, tools and processes you can use to feel like you’re more in control of everything. These things can also be used in your student career.
